(Withdrawn) Information for customers of biological reference materials from 1 January 2021

NIBSC is a world leader in the production and distribution of biological reference materials and standards, including WHO International Standards, for use in the quality assurance of biological medicines. Following the UK’s exit from the EU, NIBSC’s commitment to public health and global harmonisation of biological medicines will remain unchanged.

NIBSC has reviewed the situation with regards to continuity of supply of our products from 1 January 2021.

International standards and other biological reference materials supplied by NIBSC are, with a few exceptions, currently made, stored and distributed from our site in South Mimms, in the UK. 

This means that if your delivery address is in the UK there will be no changes to delivery arrangements.

NIBSC has a long-established record of distributing biological standards and reference materials globally and our products are typically shipped by airfreight. Therefore, we don’t anticipate significant difficulties in the supply of our products in Europe or elsewhere in the world.

This guidance will apply from exit day in line with the Human Medicines Regulations (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.
