Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Diagnostic Calibrant now available

The National institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) has produced a new Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Calibrant reagent to support the accurate diagnosis of COVID-19.

The NIBSC Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Diagnostic Calibrant (NIBSC code 20/162) can be used to estimate the sensitivity of a diagnostic assay for Anti-SARS-CoV-2 by end-point dilution. It has been assigned a unitage of 1000U.

The calibrant can also be used to assess any variation in the sensitivity of different lots of assay kits by comparing changes in the end-point dilution of the assays.

Additionally, the calibrant can be used in conjunction with our Anti-SARS-CoV-2 QC reagent (NIBSC code 20/B764) to investigate any warnings or assay failures due to the QC data.
