NIBSC Centre for AIDS Reagents supporting coronavirus and malaria research

Coronavirus

The NIBSC Centre for AIDS Reagents (CFAR) repository is further expanding its remit to support research on SARS-CoV-2 by providing a selection of viruses, plasmids, cell lines, recombinant proteins and antibodies.

View our COVID-19-related research reagents

We are continuously sourcing, producing and characterizing new high-quality research reagents which are quickly made available to the scientific community. A characterised stock of the B.1.1.7 lineage variant of SARS-CoV-2 is currently in production and will be available to researchers within the next 3 weeks. Additional variants, including the 501.v2 will also be available shortly.

Malaria

Additionally, a large collection of malaria reagents has recently been deposited at CFAR for onward sharing by Dr Anthony Holder from the Crick Institute. These include antiserum, monoclonal antibodies, parasites and plasmids.
