WHO Reference Reagents and other brain homogenates

The materials were prepared with the guidance of the WHO working group on international reference materials for diagnosis and study of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). They have been characterised by an international collaborative study on in vitro assays under the auspicies of the same group, but have yet to be assigned specific WHO status.

 

Important note : Please be aware that these samples have not been tested for dangerous pathogens such as HIV, HBV and it is the sole responsibility of the person making the request that all precautions are taken to ensure safety.
