General Information BHT is a fat soluble antioxidant much like butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) ,these phenol derivatives react with the free radicals (called free radical scavengers) and can slow the rate of autoxidation. Oxygen reacts preferentially with BHT rather than oxidizing fats or oils, thereby protecting them from spoilage.
