Ordering from the Centre for AIDS reagents

From the 2 August 2021, the Coronavirus (SARS) materials available from CFAR are now available to order online here through the NIBSC Biological Reference materials catalogue.

They are accessible subject to the completion of a Material Transfer Agreement which will be provided after receipt of an order.

For information/queries on how to order click here, for material related queries contact cfar@nibsc.org

New customer registration

If you have not ordered products from NIBSC before you will first need to complete a new customer account form before placing an order and email it to CFAR@nibsc.org.

Material transfer agreements (MTAs)

To order a reagent from CFAR, you will need to complete a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) form. The MTAs are designed to protect the intellectual property rights of the scientists/institutes that have donated to CFAR. This ensures that CFAR can to continue to offer unique, non-commercially available materials to the global HIV research community.

Required information

The MTA must be completed by the requestor and should include the following information:

  • A brief scientific justification for request
  • The signature of an authorised signatory for your institute/company
  • A telephone number and email address
  • A copy of the associated purchase order or purchase order number
  • VAT number (relevant to UK customers only)

Completed MTAs should be returned to CFAR@nibsc.org. Please contact us if you require any assistance as incomplete forms may result in the delay of reagents being dispatched. We aim to dispatch all orders within 10 working days of receipt of complete paperwork.

Reagent-specific MTAs

The following CFAR reagents require a special MTA:

  • MTA for ARP3101 12G5 MAb to CXCR4
  • MTA for EVA648 W61D gp120 Recombinant Protein
  • UNAIDS Virus Isolates MTA for Non Profit Organisations
  • UNAIDS Virus Isolates MTA for Profit Making Organisations

Import permits

Please note that it is the requestors responsibility to determine if an import permit for the materials ordered is required. Where necessary, a valid importation permit must be included. Contact your local customs authority if you are unsure about import regulations.
