Dr Susan J Thorpe
Dr Susan J Thorpe joined NIBSC in 1987 to establish a programme of work in the immunohaematology area in the former Division of Haematology. She went on to become leader of the Parenterals Section (now Molecular Immunology) in the Division of Biotherapeutics. Susan retired in 2016 with nearly 40 years’ experience in a wide range of scientific activities and over 80 publications, mostly in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her research focused on antibody-based therapeutics and diagnostics, in relation to the properties and molecular structure of monoclonal antibodies, red cell serology, autoimmunity, and analytes of clinical diagnostic value.
